Quick question for a friend going bankrupt. She has her own flat but hasn't been living in it for past 8 months as has had cancer so staying with her parents to help her while having chemo etc.
Most of her debts are at her own flat but some she has taken out using her mums address while staying there.
She is going bankrupt in next month or two and was going to just use her mums address until I pointed out it would blacklist her parents house.
Is this correct or does it not matter which address you use?
She is in Scotland by the way I don't know if rules are different up there to what they are down here.
I'm no expert so hope someone can advise as be easier to use her mums address as she struggles to get to her own flat for post etc while she is so ill..
Thankyou

Addresses are not blacklisted. Credit reference data is against the person, so negative information on one person's record should not affect anyone else at that address.
For someone else to be affected, you have to have an actual financial link such as a joint account. Just living at the same address doesn't do it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
