Any news on Gregson & Brooke?!!

Hi,
I have been with Gregson & Brooke, the solicitors for over a year and a half and they've now signed their accounts over to another company. I need to get some money... A LOT of my money refunded to me from the amount that they have not supplied to my creditors towards my debt. They no longer have a phone number active and their website is "under construction"... does anyone know how I can get hold of them please? I have an email address, which shockingly, no one is replying to?!!

I have never heard of them. Are they real solicitors? What were they actually doing for you?
I would check companies house online to see what the status of the company is and see if you can maybe find an address for them.
If they genuinely were solicitors then you may get some help from the law society (I think they are oversee solicitors) although I don't know if they are able to give you any money. If the law society can't help then I fear the money is lost. You could in theory take the company to court but if they have no money then you wouldn't get anything back.
i think, sadly that the money is probably lost and you should try and come up with another plan.
If you do get any compensation from the law society or can scrape together some money somehow I would consider making full and final settlement offers (or even explaining the situation to your creditors and asking them to write off the balances).

Hi, yes, I've ALSO been dealing with Gregson and Brooke for a couple of years and was beginning to get concerned the back end of last year after my account was moved over to Expert Money Solutions - but after all that time, had never received a statement, or how much money was going to my creditors - I was beginning to worry!....So I began investigating, and couldn't find their website, the telephone number changed, people kept avoiding my questions at Expert Money Solutions especially the one about where is my statement of the money paid in (£300 per calendar month!), I wasn't getting letters or chasers from both my creditors, so knew they were getting something. Eventually, I gave up, and after receiving a call from a Company warning me that Gregson and Brooke were acting fraudulantly, I then involved the CAB (they then referred me to the Financial Ombudsmen), of which I am now in complaint mode there. I have moved my DMP through to Payplan, of which I have my own online account, my creditors both recommended them after I called them to notify about the situation , and can clearly see where my money is split, not some of my money (which is perfect!). Just now got to get all the money owed to me from Gregson and Brooke which I think may take a while, but it is a lot! - Working out how much I have paid to them, I would have paid off my creditors by now, but that isn't the case. I just hope that this gets sorted, I am so stressed about all this. Payplan have been brilliant though, I cannot complain, it was a bit tedious at the beginning having to go through all the household income and expenditure with them, but they couldn't have been more helpful (they were referred to me by the Debt Management Helpline). Fingers crossed, this now all works out for me (and for you too!) Good luck!

Looks like they have gone bust - taking my girlfriends money with them to no doubt!

Another timely reminder of why its not a good idea to use a 3rd party limited company to pay your debts for you.
They should all be banned in my opinion, its the other side of the DCA coin. They all want your money.

For anyone that has fallen victim to this company or any other I would urge you to register as a creditor in the hope that some money can be recovered and speak to a debt charity such as National Debtline or Stepchange for free help and advice.

Gregson and Brooke were changed to Expert Money Solutions and now they have a company called 'onetick' who are working with them!
They want 25% of all compensations!
Has anyone any comments please?
