Free to Collector - 2014

Hi Everyone,

I hope I'm not duplicating a thread :(.

I thought it would be good to start a thread for those who collect things from Free advertisements. i.e. Free to collector ads, facebook pages, hand me downs etc.

I frequently look though the adds in local Facebook groups, not just for things helpful to me but I also give stuff away that isn't good enough to sell but can still be of use like kids toys, plant pots, stuff the kids have grown out of. I do think these ideas are great to save money and the environment.

I don't collect items to sell or collect anything that wouldn't be of use.

Some of the stuff you collect can even be a start of a project i.e. an old wooden toy box being brought back to life with some TLC etc.

Anyone else want to join me on my Free/Recycle hunt??

So far for 2014 I have gained a blue pair of curtains, toddler wardrobe, light fitting with rockets, 3 very nice curtain poles and a blue TV + Video combi - all going to used in my son's bedroom which I am currently decorating. :rotfl:

Would love to here of other peoples gains.
Oh I do want to live in Countryside.......with the kids, pets and LOTS of books.........

I have had a wooden chest of drawers which are pretty shabby if I'm honest but I am planning on upcycling them to use in our Son's nursery once I've finished upcycling an old wooden tv cabinet and turning it into a baby wardrobe.
I may have to get a wriggle on though as he's expected to be prem and is due anytime really lol
