Nottingham City Centre Parking

Options
I will be starting a new job in Nottingham city centre in a few months. The only problem I am finding is that the cost of car parking in Nottingham is extortionate!
I do not live in Nottingham, I have considered taking the train/tram but I will be required to be at work at 4/5am some mornings and trains and trams do not run at these times.

Does any body know of anywhere that is relatively cheap and not too far from market square?

(I'm not holding my breath)

Thanks! :)

  • taxi in the morning and tram out when youve finished, any good taxi firm will give you a reduced set fare if you use them on a regular basis on a journey you do frequently. may be worth ringing a few n seeing what they can do for you, might be cheaper than parking depending on where you live?

Try chatting to a few local business that you know have car parking and offering a sum perhaps? Best bet is just going in one day and having a look around for the odd non-permit street etc... I think Nottingham station is £6 a day, and there is a free customer-only car park (ie take it at your own risk) about 20 mins away down at the Castle Marina by PC world etc... Good luck, but from my experience Nottingham isn't great for cheap parking.

Parking in Nottingham city centre is quite expensive and places can be at a premium due to the WPL.

The council do offer contract parking at a number of car parks across the city which might work out cheapest for you and are around the same price as a travel card anyway.

    In case you're still wondering..
    Three options..

    1)
Drive to a Park & Ride (The Forest is the closest) and catch the tram in & out. (You could even walk to be honest, it's not too far)

    2)
Depending on what time you'll get into town, park in a Zone 3 street parking space, which is only really round the back of the uni (so limited spaces), by the student accommodation. This is charged at 25p per half hr, which wouldn't be more than £5 or so per day

    3)
Contact the local multistories as they offer "season tickets".
I know someone who works in Vic Centre and IIRC they pay around £70-£80 pcm for unlimited parking.
