Make a big Chocolate Crispy Cake to cut into without it flying everywhere

I wonder if you can help. My son has requested a giant Chocolate Crispy Cake for his birthday cake.
When I make the small Crispy cakes at home I just melt chocolate and stir in the rice crispies.
I wonder if anyone has a recipe that I can follow to make a giant crispy cake. I plan to put it in a pyrex dish to set and then coat it in chocolate and cover it in Malteasers
So the cake will need to hold its shape.
Does anyone have any suggestions what to put in the crispy mix?
Many thanks

Hi I use melted mars bars instead of chocolate, you need to melt them with a little bit of milk to stop them burning but the end result is more chewy so it does not crumble the same way the chocolate ones do.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

Also when semi soft (excuse the expression) start cutting them so when there set there already half cut.
You could add small pieces of chopped glace cherries to help soften the mixture, or some desicatted coconut xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Mixing marshmallows in makes it softer too. But yes, cut it before it sets properly.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Adding golden syrup and a small amount of butter to the chocolate will create a sticky softer mix.0

Agree using syrup in the recipe gives softer result and adding mini marshmallows too makes it even yummier.
This is good as well.

Thanks all, it will be impossible to cut it as it will be forming a birthday cake and will be covered in a melted chocolate coating with sweets for decoration.
I have just made one version with the Goodhousekeeping recipe and wanted to try another version and see which is easier to cut through, so am trying to add marshmallows. I have tried chopping the marshmallows up and melting them into the chocolate but it wont melt just congeals with the chocolate, am I just to stir the marshmallows into the melted chocolate and stir with the rice crispys or are they meant to melt, if so how should I go about it.
Many thanks0 -
No, they will mix in! Take a balloon whisk or fork and beat like a crazy lady! It will go thick and then they will just mix in nicely, persevere, I ve been where you are now!Norn Iron Club member 4730
