Couple of questions.

1,Once i have filled in the paperwork how long as a rule does it take for an appointment at court ?

2,I have debts from years ago and creditors who dont even bother contacting me now they know how bad my financial situation is and do have all up to date info.

3, And what if i dont because i dont know every creditor put them on the forms...are they still outstanding or written off ?

    1. You have to contact the court for an appointment. Some can do it in days, some have a backlog of weeks/months. Get on to your court ASAP.

    2. Just give whet details you have on ALL debts.

    3. ALL debts are covered, even if you've forgotten about them. If they crop up later they are still covered and can be added.

  • Thanks and i promise well maybe not ! a last question for now ...is it true if the debt is joint and one person goes BK the other person cant ?
  • The other party becomes liable for the debt (it wouldn't be included in your bankruptcy) but that wouldn't prevent them from declaring bankruptcy.

    As above.

A joint debt would become the complete responsibility of the other person for the full amount.

The other person could go bankrupt in their own right though. It would NOT stop them doing that.
