Help with my debt

I am feeling really foolish right now, I have a debt of £9,000 and right now i am struggling like mad to pay my debts each month so i decided after a huge amount of thought to apply for a loan to clump it all together (2x credit cards 1x loan) and then it would all be paid off in either 3 or 4 years . But my credit score is not great apparently due to a couple of late payments so i applied a few times to different places and now my chances of a loan are even worse. To make matters worse i have applied to a company that go by the name of first stop loans and i sent them £50 to process my loan but that is now obviously a bad move as they have not been very forthcoming and other websites say beware! What is the best way to clear these awful debts ? I work full time and have a daughter so extra work as lovely as it would be is not really an option. A consolidation loan would be the best thing right now but will anyone give me one?

Good luck all you debt free wannabee s xx

First things first, we need to see your SOA (statement of affairs). Read SouthernScousers post at the top of this board, that will tell you everything we need.

But basically, it's a list of all your debts (with credit limits and APRs), all your incomings, (wages, child tax credits etc), and all your outgoings.

We need more info to give proper advice - but welcome to the board! You've come to the right place for help!

The first thing to do is post your SOA (see southernscousers sticky thread top of this board) so we can try and help you save money where you can.

I think most people on here would say its not a good idea to consolidate debts as you have to be very strong willed not to run up the cards again (i have made this mistake myself).

You can always contact your local CAB office and they have specialised people to help you work out you incomings and outgoings and are able to contact your creditors with your permission to work out some sort of arrangement plan if you are struggling to keep up the repayments.

Dont worry there are lots of people on this site who offer very good advice so im sure someone will be able to help you. :)
