My day has been cancelled!
I had taken the day off because my friend was flying in to visit me for a few days. My house is clean and tidy, ready for visitors. My dog is in kennels, so that I could go out and not have to worry about getting back for her. Then my friend emailed me to say that she is worried about the threats to security in the UK, especially at the airports, so she has decided not to come. She hopes I understand.
Of course I understand. I wouldn't want her to do anything she didn't feel happy about. BUT I was really looking forward to seeing her. We were going to drink tea, and chat.
So instead I am going to have a DFW day. I thought I could check out all the money saving things I don't normally have time to do. I'm going to compare insurance prices, gas and electric prices, and phone prices. I will also sort out some things to sell on ebay and some books to sell on Amazon.
Does anyone fancy joining me to do the same?
I'll put the kettle on now and make us a nice cup of tea. Then we can give each other tips and encouragement.
I don't want terrorists to spoil my day. I want some good to come of it.
Every cloud has a silver lining.

Hi CS & PeachPickle (and anyone else that follows).
I'm trying to get the housework done so will be in and out today, but can manage a quick coffee before I start. Hope you're all okay."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

If you need help, let me know what design you find and I'll look if I can beat the price or if I can find it on a caskback site.

Hi Snaggles,

I see you are all willing to join in with the tea, coffee, biscuits and flapjacks (with vodka chasers!)... but are you going to join in with the moneysaving too?

I have already made a start. I have checked DH's car insurance on confused.com and can get it for £13 cheaper.
I'm going to ring Tesco for a quote next. They are giving 500 Clubcard points for a telephone quote. (Details on the Vouchers board).Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.
