Free DIY Will

I've also put this thread on the families board.

If you want a free DIY Will then you can get one from the following site bestinvestor.co.uk

The only catch is that they want you to use the 'find an ifa' service. Wasnt a problem for me as i wanted some pension adivce anyway.

Hope this is of use!

    Hi
I don't know how accurate this is, so apologies in advance if I've been given incorrect info.
I was once told that when you make a will, if even one thing is wrong with it, then the whole will is essentially void, and it's treated as if you died intestate. This means that even the bits that were right are ignored, so you may find that things aren't given to the people you want to have them.

Again, this is only info that I was given a while ago when preparing my own will, so apologies if I got the wrong end of the stick.
Lead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself :D

I don't think it is as bad as that. Poorly drafted Wills can cause problems but as long as they are properly signed and witnessed I don't believe they would be completely invalidated by a simple mistake in one part.

i done a will after having my first child using a diy will from the post office, when my second child was born i had it updated by a professional company that knew what they were doing and i was told that my old will was useless as it was incorrectly done, if anything in the will isnt correctly done the will becomes completely useless...thats what the professionals told me, and he wasnt trying to sell me something as i had already bought my new will from him, it was just free advice from him...

when i did update my professional will a few years later i wrote it word for word and just changed the names and addresses of the people benefitting and who are legal gaurdians for my children if anything should happen to me so at least i know it is correct still lol...
