Hi, so I have posted here before about my wonga loan but I am still having problems, pretty much the opposite problem to most people in my position. I took out a wonga loan, realised I couldnt repay it, told them and was able to set up a repayment plan. Everything seemed like it was going smoothly until my first repayment date. This is where my problem is opposite. Unlike most people report, wonga did not take money when they shouldnt have and thats my problem, they took nothing. It was my repayment date on wednesday (5th March) and the money did not leave my account. I googled it and others had said they might leave it until after midnight to get one last days interest before freezing it, so on thursday I expected it to be gone from my account, still there and the same on friday and today (saturday) I have emailed them numerous times and nothing. It was weird though, I got no payment reminders and I have had no emails stating my payment is late. I dont want to go ahead and pay it incase they try to take the automatic payment after. I dont want to ring them because most things ive read have said about people ringing wonga and agreeing to things and then wonga backtracking and saying no conversation took place. So if anyone out there is on/has been on a wonga repayment plan, has this happened to you amd what did you do?
If anyone could shed some light on this I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

Do you have your repayment plan in writing?

So you ring them, fiund out what happened, tell them you need confirmation of any discussion in writing. Too many people take the 'don't agree over the phone' to mean don't talk to them at all.

I haven't read of Wonga having this problem of agreeing something over the phone and then denying it - other less honest lenders do however.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
  • Another one for ring them. Sorry as an ex. call centre worker now I would ring they will record calls somehow as this isn't no small operation - I've seen records happen many ways and even been listened in on so know it happens, then there was the record button especially for those who chose to get stroppy at one place! I would not leave this because who knows it could be an employee error, intentional, other party error, miss-informed, you just don't know.

Calling is as easy as the lender to say yes we did send an email..... that's my view, I used to resort to public messaging in the past when had trouble but that was before I went to work in a contact centre, and discovered it really isn't that easy to hide customer contact

When I had a Wonga repayment plan it showed as the plan on my account online. This was a while back though so not sure if its the case.

    Could check your account online?
