"Congratulations you have made it to the finals"

Hello all,

I entered the following competition a few months back - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4843638

Today I received an email saying we have made it to the finals and to to go to the hotel between 10am and 6pm on Sunday April 27th to find out the next stage.

Just wanted to know if anyone else got one, and also what everyone's thoughts are? Don't want to go all the way there if its going to be like a timeshare/presentation like thing for example lol

Seems to come from the same hotel that the original comp was from - although mode are a marketing agency

If you can make it then go along - can always walk out if there is some pressure selling. Although.....

I suspect, however many have been shortlisted, they will try and 'timeshare-sell' the hotel for everyone's wedding.... However, if not everyone who entered received that email, then there's a chance of you winning...

But...

The fact that email was viewable online suggests to me it was a mass send out.

Just a heads up, but that online pic is linked to your email sign up - anyone who clicks the link can see your addy etc by clicking on 'subscription preferences'.

Thanks all for your responses - I've taken the email link off too - thanks for the heads up Wdah!

Me and my oh are considering it - we do however live quite a way from Doncaster (we are in Kent!) but would love to have a dream wedding! So looking at tying it with a weekend away:D

But if it was sent out to millions of people and viewable online, it does seem like it could be a timeshare/hard sell type thingy! Will update if we do go:)

Thanks for that - I've like the page and will be keeping tabs on it!

Looks like I have a different date to some of the others on there... I've been told to go on the 27th, but a few people have been told to go on the 13th

Looking at the original comp it does say on the entry form that there is a 'judging process' whatever that entails!

If you can afford the weekend away then there's no harm in going I'd have thought. They probably will be advertising the hotel at the same time but that doesn't mean there won't be a winner!
