PS - hope she's stopped her botox work while she's so sick too. ;)

Yep. Stopped that when she was ill first time :-)

Why do I get the impression you have an issue with my wife being ill? This comment implies that you dont believe any of it is genuine to be honest.
  • Good job you work in IT and not HR (as I do).

Dismissal on grounds of capability is perfectly valid and happens every day, even in the NHS. You're probably hoping for a year's worth of money for nothing, but in the days of targets and reduced budgets you may find it happening pretty quickly. She should already have triggered a Bradford scale alarm. You yourself said it could end your career. The NHS can't afford to keep staff on the books that aren't fulfilling their side of the employment contract.

For some who works in HR you have a strange attitude. 'A years worth of money for nothing' is a bit of a nasty comment to be honest.

Fortunately, not everyone sees someone ill as a sponger who is trying to pull a fast one and get something for free.

Quite why you see triggering a process is a problem I'll never know. Obviously, things like this have to be managed properly for all parties concerned.

For your information, seeing occ health is what she wants. She wants to work with her employer and decide what she can do it terms of getting back to work, even if it mean redeployment to a slightly different job.

I only hope you never find yourself in a situation like this. Maybe you will change your views then.

She never got to see Occ Health? She's never discussed a potential date to get back to work?

To clarify, she was ill whilst pregnant and saw OH multiple times. They advised that she was not fit for work.

Then went on maternity leave for just under a year. Suffered more illness (unsure if related at this stage) but was hoping to go back to work after this (end of may).

Didnt work out so shes off on sick now. I guess first OH appt will be soon. Shes keen to do this to discuss the future, possible options for going back etc. Of course, a lot of this depends on the hospital consultants viewpoint also. (who shes seeing shortly).

Yes, it sounds like a lot of sick but shes had a very bad time of it over the past few years.

Triggering a process is exactly what I want to see happen, especially where public money is concerned! You don't have to read many of your posts to see that you're constantly on the take, looking for opportunities to get back taxes you've paid in.

You've recently posted that she wants to reduce her hours down to 1 day a week, and that the employer has refused. Then you'd booked a holiday without making sure that she was okay to take her accrued leave at that time (it wasn't, but you went anyway) - the second foreign trip in the space of a year (and one to somewhere not very suitable for someone so poorly).

I'm not sure what to think - I only have your posts to go on.

Well, it seems like your having fun here.

To be honest, Im going to ignore you from now on. You seem like a lot of people on this forum who, for some reason, have nothing better to do with their lives than cause arguments on an internet forum.

LOL. You seem to be missing what is the only point that matters here - why should I be bothered about what you think?

I spend a fair bit of time helping organisations get rid of dead wood............ Only person arguing is you. Suspect I've touched a bit of a nerve. ;)

    (And it's "you're", not "your". ;))
