Good morning everyone.
Looks a lovely day here in Hampshire. What a difference that makes.
Just having a coffee and chatting to family.
Oh Crazy, Devon. A beautiful place. Lots of beaches and sea.
I have lived in Brixham, Torquay and Sidmouth.
Can I ask ? how do you rent out your bedroom in a 2 bed house? I think I would be worried about thieves.
I changed my picture yesterday. To a dog with sunglasses. Always hopeful! of sunshine. I put the Ch back on last night. It it that time of year to switch it on and off. Until the final time it can stay off for summer
I wonder how many times the house phone will go today. Yesterday, I was pestered about 4 times with hopeful call centre staff thinking they could part me with my cash. Today, i think I might play the put the phone on the side so wile the line is still open they cannot call anyone else.
I think the house phone is a complete waste of 120 pounds line rental. Everyone has mobiles these days.
Just been putting my code in for Puppy points with Andrex.. I now have 202 points.
When my children were small I use to get them the slippers, toy dogs etc.
Looking at the rewards today, I now think they should include dog toys and bowls .
After all the Andrex puppy is a dog.
I have the calendar with adorable photo's.
Today I have ordered some dog food from Pets at home. The vet recommended James well beloved for Bonnie.
I went through Quidco and found a code for 15 pounds off if you spend over 75 pounds. I bought x2 15kg sacks. Free delivery.
Will last a wile.

Good morning! Chucking it down here at mo but supposed to brighten up later, so washing machine will be on in hope of another outdoor drying day.
Hopefully a NSD, meals all from cupboards and planning what to get going on our new allotment, hoping to go see over the weekend how it has fared over the winter.
New rescue cat's toys have arrived today so will either have fun watching an old boy play with them, or see his disdain!
Heard this week that hubby is going to be made redundant in next 6 months so using my current time off work to check for all deals and replan our budget for the times ahead, thankfully we are DF now except the mortgage
Have a lovely day everyone whatever you are doing0 -
Morning good advice - it is a little overcast here in Devon. Currently having a do-I-dont-I conversation in my head about the washing. Its not raining yet, but air is very damp...
Guest leaves today, and I am off for a couple of nights volunteering with a charity. I used to do this every month but money and ill health and real life have stopped me for the last year or so. Looking forward to seeing everyone but a little apprehensive about group spend... luckily the programme is too tight for any evenings at the pub I think. So hard when you want to join in but 2 nights out would wipe my social and fun spend - DD might not be happy about that!
Sofa was collected by ebay winner last night. Have that strange-transformed-landscape feeling in the lounge. Just scrubbed the skirting free of dampy mildrewy stuff and letting it air properly over the weekend.
So, DFW:- Minimal spend on weekend trip. Searched high and low found lots of bits instead of popping out to buy - phew!
- Cancel AA renewals (didnt achieve this yesterday, must do before I go) Breakdown - DONE!!! Over next few days there is a RAC deal on - get a £35 M&S card if you spend between 50 and 100. Worked out well for me
- Contents - cancelled renewal. Need to sort new cover but wont be with them,
- Made lunch to have with colleague who is giving me a lift to the weekend (leftovers from last nights scrummy pasta sauce and for pudding saved some of DD's pancake batter from this am). Hopefully this avoids a service station break on the way!
- Update BnB vacancies - nice people have booked in repeats
- Write to / email people we may visit on way to / from airport at Easter
- Pay CC
- Check banking
- Stash away box of creme eggs my friend bought DD yesterday -she doesn't like but would probably eat for chocolate, leaving the middle...I can use as Easter gift for team at work and replace with a cheaper bar of just choc for DD. DONE
- Drop off ebay babyseat sold for friend on way - we go right past the door, and it saved me staying in!
- Washing went on line in the end!! DONE

- Fill back for cash $ clothes, dint do this yesterday either!!!!
- Possible NSD, do need to do a shop but will try to put this off til tomorrow

Hi all
-washing on the line (washed on cheaper tariff last night)
-been to collect lots of pregnancy freebies, I have a big bag of various toiletries, wipes, a bag of cereal, cleaning product samples, 4 free nappies and a changing bag (had to buy a pack of nappies for the bag). So £6 spend but worth it.
-small spend on lunchbox stuff at £ shop, came out of grocery budget.
-resisted the temptation to eat whilst out at shopping centre, came home and cooked lunch instead! :-)
- resisted buying anything in next - I'm paying off my directory account with a view to closing it in a couple of months but I found myself in the newborn section and so very nearly folded! Came home and took my card out of my purse and put it away!
- work stuff and uniforms in washing machine on cheaper tariff tonight.
- walk to pick up DS from school instead of driving. He won't like it but tough!
Have a good one everyone :-)0 -
Good afternoon to you all, been a really busy couple of days at work and then after work running around trying to get ourselves organised for our weekend away to the Lakes. Will be glad when we're in the car and setting off now!
Had a couple of blows to the Debt payments in the last couple of days. Firstly, found out that DD1 has been allocated a place on a German field rip at school as she was on the reserve list, she's absolutely over the moon but £350!! :eek:Needs to be paid by end April… Then, had a road tax bill drop through the letter box for £125 which was a complete surprise as we lease our car and thought road tax was included like on our last deal, that's £125. So sadly not going to be able to make any repayments on the cc this month by the look of it.
So DFW for today:
* Swimming at the gym this morning and showered there and used their hair dryer.
* Breakfast, lunch and dinner from stores.
* Post ebay item.
* Turn CH off before we leave the house tonight.
* Collect the eggs and box up to sell at work on Monday. Won't be able to eat them all over the weekend.
I'm feeding everyone before we set off tonight so we don't have to pay for another meal out. We're eating out tomorrow night and I've got packed lunches for both days. Hopefully it stays dry so we don't need to resort to paying for boat trips across the lake etc. Dry weather means free entertainment!!
Think that's it! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello Friday money savers,
Very mixed day here today....grey spells with sharp showers one minute, & brilliant sunshine & blue sky the next.
My not very inspiring list for today is:
*Saved some energy by sharing bath water, saving hot kettle water for next drink, only hoovering the rooms that needed it rather than doing everywhere out of habit & not putting heating on until 6pm.
*Did my weekly big clean using minimal products. I used to waste money on lots of different surface cleaners, bathroom mousses, etc, now I use my annual bottle of Stardrops diluted in a recycled spray bottle for most cleaning jobs, though I do buy soda crystals for tough jobs & unblocking & I also buy bleach for chucking down the loo. My house does not appear any less clean that when I bought lots of different, often expensive branded products.
*Did lots of surveys. Find these boring but was quite motivated today to find my Toluna points had increased from 19,000 to 31,000 as they'd obviously added a load on overnight.
*Finish knitting hat for present box (did not manage to get it finished last night as was too busy f*rting about doing nothing in particular). Would love to finish it today so can cast on next project over the weekend.
*Meals as per meal plans - mr f's cooking night. He's making a Rosemary Conley recipe - lamb keema - so calories all worked out already.
*Free fitness, as before I started big house clean, I did my exercise DVD & really gave it some welly, as weigh-day is looming.
*Have planned very low spend outing for Sunday as weather supposed to be gorgeous, predictions of 17 deg in some places, apparently! Have loaded washer ready for cheap overnight wash on Sat as Sun sounds like excellent drying day.
*Checked & watered veggie seedlings.
*Refilled tiny plastic boxes with value raisins for work snacks.....much cheaper to do it this way than buy the ready-filled little cardboard boxes, (just compare the price per kg of the dried fruit in mini-boxes V a 'basics' dried fruit bag).
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Finish freezer list. Didn't finish it yesterday as it's really packed & my hands got too cold to write!
*My 'Use-it-up' campaign has been extended to tea-bags.....cranberry & pomegranate ones at the moment. In fact, I'm not buying any more fancypants tea-bags until I've finished all the ones currently in the cupboard.
Have been trying to pluck up courage to tackle the evil under-bed storage box but have again put it off until another day, despite suspecting that there could be ebayable stuff in there. Perhaps a job for a rainy day next week.......
Cheers all,
