Hi there,
My first post, looking for some advice. Will write a bit of background info to help.
I have been on a DMP plan since 2008 for CC debt on 3 cards (total of approx. £12,000) & an overdraft of approx. £1500. I was working at the time of starting & have always paid the £180 a month even through two lots of MAT leave etc. In December I left my full time job (approx. 50hrs wk) as my OH's new job working shifts meant that we could not find childcare for two children to cover our working hours. I am currently job hunting for more family friendly hours. My OH has just started a DMP with StepChange (£80 a month for CC/overdraft of approx. £4500) as we were struggling with his min. repayments. I have not paid my DMP since November's payment as I am not earning.
I want to move my DMP to StepChange as my current one is with a fee-paying company. Does anyone know what damage I may have caused by not making any payments for 4 months? Is it possible to move a DMP? & is it lightly they will be able to arrange for me to pay a token amount until I have any kind of income again?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Verity,
Welcome to the forum
Others will be along soon enough to offer advice based on their own experience.
I've been with SC for the past 7 or 8 months, they're great and really easy to speak to - not patronising or anything like that
My advice is to call SC ASAP before binning off your current DMP provider...
I've heard several people in the past say they have been kicked off their DMP's in the past for non-payment (not saying this will happen to you) but SC always seem to help them in organising a short term plan (even if it's just you sending a token payment and an explanation and SC DMP details) before getting the actual DMP payments rolling out.
I reckon you'll be ok, but stop stressing and give 'em a buzz
