After a bit of advise as I am looking for a digital camera and wanted to know which one is better out of the two models, the price difference does not concern me but wondered if it's worth spending the extra £110 on the panasonic? I prefer the deisgn of the Panasonic over the Rioch but is it wortg the extra money
Panasonic DMC-TZ3EB-K - £249.99

Ricoh Caplio R5 - £139.99

Anyone have any ideas which is the best option?0

I wouldn't touch the richo with a barge pole after an experience of their stuff in the past.
The Richo has a few better features but the panny has some also, the panny image stabilisation of performed by the lens opposed the the sensor on the richo, lots of problems with build quality and image quality on the richo. If your looking for a point and shoot without any manual control then the panny is great the flash isn't to powerful so low light it isn't fantastic but the richo is over powerful so maybe even worse.

I'd agree with the post above in that I'd much prefer the Panasonic TZ3. Though it is quite a lot more than the Ricoh so it's right to consider whether it justifies the extra £110. One way of making the decision easier would be to buy the TZ3 from somewhere cheaper. What about Tecno:

£224.89, and there's always a 5% code around for Tecno, bringing it down to £213.64, with free delivery. Only thing is it's not currently in stock, but it says it's available within 10 days.0 -

I've wondered about this company in the past. The thing is, the VAT and import shipping bring the price up to £209.86 (for the cheapest shipping option).0 -
Thanks for the replies
I have also noticed a handheld camera I like the look of but the optical zoom is only x3 when compared to the Ricoh's x7.1 and the Panny x10

Thought it would fit nicely in my pocket on holiday rather than a bigger camera but I like the idea of a bigger optical zoom0 -
This is no help whatsoever,as I cant remember what it says, but take a trip to your local library and have a look at the latest Which report on digital cameras.0

I ended up ordering the silver panny TZ3 from Comet this evening as it's on a special web price of £228 and I used a £15 off code which took it down to £213.97 and went through Quidco and got 3.5% cashback
I ended getting the camera for £206 which is a great price and don't think could be beaten0
