How to Overpay each month

I have an interest only mortgage of £112000 with a remaining 18 years left, the reason it is interest only is because like a lot of other people we have got things tough over the last few years & changed from repayment to interest only to lower our monthly outgoings.
I have tried to set up a standing order with santander to take an extra £100 per month for the mortgage but they keep bouncing it back to my current account.
I contacted them & asked why this was & they told me that if I want to make an overpayment each month I will need to ring them & do the payment this way.
Can anyone else suggest another way around this please.
I cant go back to repayment as the amount is too high but I could manage an extra £100 per month.

It sounds like Santander will accept over-payments over the phone, I would try that. My first mortgage was interest only and I saved from November to November and paid off a lump sum each November, like you I started at £100 per month and put it up bit by bit, the mortgage was paid off in 10 years, enabling me to buy a house and start again with that mortgage.0
