Thanks for the advice that is one thing I hadn't thought to do.
The seller has tonight responded to one of my earlier messages asking for his help and he has just threatened to sexually assault me in it

When the case is escalated it's better to return the item as soon as possible. If time runs out you will lose all the money you paid and not just return postage. Try parcel2go or parcelmonkey to find the cheapest option.0 -
I wouldn't want any more to do with someone who had made threats against me.SlowCooker wrote: »When the case is escalated it's better to return the item as soon as possible. As a previous post said forward the threatening messages to Ebay and also consider involving the police..0 -

If there has only been a single communication, which would be insufficient for the offence of harassment (above), there could be an offence relating to malicious communications. For such an offence to be committed, a message must be sent to another person (or sent via a public communications network) that is indecent, grossly offensive, obscene or threatening/menacing.
I would suggest that you report it, and let the person concerned know that you have reported it.0 -
I have reported the seller to the police this morning about the message he has sent. They will be visiting him in person to ask him to explain his actions.
I also managed to get a headed letter from a manager at a store that sells DVD's verifying in detail why he believes they are fakes, he also took some comparison pictures next to some genuine copies of the DVD's to illustrate the huge different in quality. I have uploaded all of these plus a screenshot of the sellers abusive message to the case and ebay have now said the next step is for them to send me a document which will instruct me on how to destroy the counterfeit DVD's and that that is the last piece of evidence they need.0 -
what DVD boxset did you buy
i have bought a few boxsets off ebay that have been advertised as brand new & sealed and region free and i know they are not real as the price was so cheap for example Curb your enthusiasm for £25 and the wire for £20
as long as it works i aint to fussed"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
But with the DVD's I bought I paid close to retail price so along with the description I thought these were official and brand new not in any way counterfeit.
Ebay have now found in my favor and are closing the case and refunding me in full. Thanks to everyone who offered me help and advice

Glad you got it sorted. Hopefully the seller will be banned for a) selling fakes and b) sending abusive messages."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
