Parking Eye - Mix up or Fit up?

Yesterday got an email from PE informing me their PCN was cancelled and thought I'd got rid of the pesky blighters.
Today got a letter in post rejecting my appeal and providing a POPLA code - checked it and has 23 days left.
So questions
Which is to be believed?
Have these just crossed in the post?
Do they normally send out written confirmations of emails?
By the time I've written to them to get them to confirm the cancellation in writing another 10 days could have passed before I get a response (if I get a response at all).
So do I rely on the email confirming cancellation or put my POPLA appeal in anyway if a written cancellation doesn't arrive in the next few days?

I agree, put the appeal into poplaWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

That's soooo funny. Definitely waste their time with an online generic winning POPLA appeal!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
