I have had a dead pigeon behind a gas fire which was unpleasant, a dead hedgehog next to the barbecue (awful!) but a neighbour had the worst experience.
She had a big old farmhouse and the first Christmas there she used the dining room for the first time. Her husband turned on the radiators as her very fussy Edinburgh mummy was coming and .... the stench was unbelievable. Hubby had to lift carpet, floorboards and remove extinct rat before the very late Christmas lunch could be served. Can't think of a worse Christmas story!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Oh I feel your pain!
We had a dead rat in the floor space between the cellar and ground floor. The smell.......I will never forget it.
I was going to suggest getting a pest control firm in or at least ring one to see of they can help, both with the smell and dealing with any other creatures that may be around. The thing with rats (as our rat man told us) is for every one you discover there are 10 more somewhere!0 -
I remember at work when I kept smelling an awful smell. I kept complaining about it, searching for it. The smell would come and go. It smelt to me like soiled nappies in a hot room.
Weeks later my colleague gleefully showed me a picture of a dead mouse inside of a computer tower. Poor thing got into it and cooked to death from the heat (old crappy computers).
And this computer tower was in front of my desk the whole time *shudder*New single Mum & student Nurse working for our future.
