Dental Hygeine Questions

Hi there,
I guess this is a question for Toothsmith and Brook2Jack really.
I gave up smoking years ago, brush and floss regularly, and eat a far healthier diet than I ever used to (including drinking water instead of fizzy drinks, fruit juices etc). But, I still have some habits which lead to staining: drinking tea, eating fruit (such as blueberries, grapes, bananas, etc etc).
Now, I do my best to reduce the plaque and tartar buildup, but inbetween my 6 monthly visits, I still get stains inbetween my teeth, and on the backs on my lower front teeth in particular. I think this is, in part, worsened by my daily use of mouthwash (on the advice of the dentist due to a few small gum pockets I have - on the back teeth). The last dental visit was last month, but the stains are already building up, and I hate them.
What is the best way to reduce this happening? Would an electric toothbrush be of any help? Or is it just a marketing ploy?
Thanks in advance.

I also get staining on my teeth. Over a year ago my hygienist recommended that I try Oral B Pro Expert toothpaste. It has cut down on the staining by 90% I'd say. I do also use an electric toothbrush, and have for many years, but she did say that they are more effective at removing staining than a manual brush.0

Take your toothbrush in with you and get the dentist/hygienist to check your using the right size brush and using the right technique. Without proper cleaning, tartar and stain will have formed within 72 of a clean, less than 30% of the UK public clean their teeth correctly. Try using plaque disclosing tablets to show you where you are missing out. Also get your dentist to check your flossing and or tepe brush use as few people floss correctly.
Check with your dentist about mouthwash. Corsodyl, which stains, is only meant for short term use.0
