Is worth splurging a lipstick?

My favourite lipstick is from Clinique and costs £17. I went back to No7 a while ago due to costs and I got a lovely lip crayon in a nice colour which I have received compliments on, the only problem is that it wore down pretty quickly. I now need a new lipstick and am wondering if its worth splurging on the Clinique one seeing as the No7 one didn't last long, but I have a No7 voucher and could get a lipstick for £6 as opposed to £17. I do only use one shade and don't use different lipsticks at once.

The crayon ones are more like a gloss/balm so do not last long. If you love the lipstick and get good wear out of it, then buy it.
I mean £17, that is cheap Tom Ford is £36!0 -
Its the trade off between colour intensity, longevity and the feel good factor vs cold hard cash, I needed a new lipstick today, I always wear MAC Crème Cup, I thought I would try out some dupes first that I had researched online, forget it, they dried my lips, wore off and somehow made me look old
and tbh I didn't relish pulling a cheap lippie out in public, shallow but true, so I came home with my beloved Crème cup and £15 lighter but so happy
maybe see it as an affordable luxury

If its the colour and texture you love then pay it. However, the thing with me I get bored with the same colours and buy lots. At £17 a go I think I'd be bankrupt in no time.
Saying that, I do love the Clinique Chubby stick intense. I'd replace that without a second thought. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
How do you 'splurge a lipstick' ?

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I'd say if you love it and you only wear the one colour, it is definitely worth it.
I had never spent much on make up until I bought some for my wedding last year. I had a bit of splurge in Mac and one of the items was a lipstick costing £15. So glad I did, I wear it nearly everyday and it lasts really well. It's actually saved me money as before I would always be buying cheaper ones to try out, trying to find the 'perfect' one!0 -
If you like it and can afford it , why not ? You know you like the colour and will use it so you aren't wasting the money on something you're not sure of . I'm useless at picking the right shade and they look different on my lips than they do on the back of my hand . Wish I could find my perfect shade !0

I think it's worth splurging on anything that makes your lipstick stay on. That might be a particular brand, a particular formulation, or a particular product such as LipCote, depending on what works for you.
Personally, I find little difference in brands across the price range so long as I put LipCote on top

I try to stick with a affordable and elegant lip stick brand. I do not experiment much with lipstick colors.0

I use a mixture of premium and cheap products. Part of the value in products is appreciating the luck and hard work that has gone in to our being able to choose them. £17 may not be as much as £36 but it doesn't mean its cheap.
OP, if its the lipstick you wear and love and have no affordability issues then I'd consider it.0
