Hot Dogs

Anyone recommend any good brands? Not bothered about cost ;) , but just want nice quality ones. I love the taste, but don't like the idea of all the scabby bits being used in the ingredients.

For the best quality and taste I can recommend Herta! :T

For the worst quality I can't recommend Ye Olde Oak

Here is Herta's rather bizzare website http://www.hertafrankfurters.co.uk/

They are available from the chilled meats section in most supermarkets and are 'boil in the bag'.

If you are a member of Costco get the packs in there

find a decent butcher, ask him exactly what he puts in his sausages or tell him what you want them to taste like and they will do it for you. never trust the garbage you get in tins/jars etc

Definitely herta frankfurters, I prefer the thin ones, yum yum, I also eat them cold which OH thinks is disgusting but they're lovely.

    Food of the Gods :D

I bought some called "Shulte" from Tesco last week - very good.

They are longer than Herta, and IMHO a more "authentic" flavour.
  • Aldi do packs of Bratwurst too which are superb. My favourite is with feta cheese. And I hate feta cheese!!! They also do them with black olives / onion/ bbq/ or plain. They really are worth a taste.
