I've just been on fb to have a gander. There's a comp for something if you have a birthday in March and say why you should win. I'm really sorry but talk about "sob city" I don't think we're talking about a million pound win or anything. I don't usually notice the other comments but ???

I hate sob stories for prizes.... its terrible to see what people will churn out to get a prize... and even this happens for very low value prizes  I don't agree with it.... its in poor taste to use a sick relative, disabled child, a family death (the list goes on!) for personal gain! it really does anger me! If I spot a lot of sob stories I often make an ultra ridiculous sob story of my own (one that people will know I am taking the mickey!) it might not get me the prize by being super sarcastic but it makes me feel better!!! :rotfl:April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0

Being the nosey so and so I am I thought I would have a gander at this
The funny thing is that they are not actually saying there is a prize or mentioning a competition at all they are just asking about birthdays in March. It did manage to get over 11 thousand comments on the post so I guess many see some questions and automatically think it must be a competition
This is all it says
'Like' if you know someone special with a March birthday!
Comment and tell us who?
How can that possibly be taken as a competition?0 -
I thought that too, I didn't read the post as a competition.0

I agree the sob stories are in poor taste. But how come I never win with .....
'I want to win (whatever it is) because I haven't got one' Surely it's the most honest answer to give?
I think I'm going to dig out that music Simon Bates used to play on Radio one years ago accompanied by the most cheesy, pathetic reading sob story I can write - I just haven't gotten around to thinking one up yet:D
