Because you didn't apply for it apparently. Did you ask the father for child support ? If you had a private arrangement (or told CSA you had) then they wouldn't get involved. If you didn't it was your responsibility to apply- CSA is hardly new .....How did you not know it existed ? Or did you choose to not apply and deprive yourself and your children of child support ?
Plenty of people don't apply for it - especially if they prefer to/are comfortable financially without it.
Same goes for child benefit ....no-one but you could apply for either so if you "survived on nothing" it was your choice. CSA started in 1993 btw.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

It was called the CSA from it's beginning in 1993.I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.0

But back then any child support payments made via the CSA were deducted from benefits claimed.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
