I always check the leaflet to see what the half price offers are and usually buy the half price meat and put in the freezer. Currently got 16 packs of mince in there as I know it'll get used. I don't really plan that far ahead with meals, so will adapt to what's on offer. If it's aubergines then will have musarka, however it's spelt:)0

The way I do it (most of the time) is to have a meal plan for the week, depending on what I have in the fridge or what we fancy eating. Then when I shop if I see any special offers I ether buy it and freeze to use in future, or swap a meal.
For example if I have roast chicken and I see a yellow stickered duck I will swap. If I already have the chicken, or really fancy chicken I will freeze the duck.
Every now and again I do a stock take in my freezer and plan meals around what I have in the freezer, which a part the usual stuff I use all the time, it is mostly yellow stickered meat.
To be honest I don't buy much meat from Aldi/Lidl, because I try and buy it when it's yellow stickered with at least 50% off, if occasionally I need something I have to pay full price for I will buy it from the supermarket I feel has the best quality for that product.
(however we are not typical as we have reduced the amount of meat we eat drastically, and cook a lot of veggie meals, because meat is very expensive and animals are farmed in terrible conditions).
PS meal planning really helps, both saving money, but also time, so that I know exactly what I need to do, instead of having to open the fridge, and start thinking about what to cook there and then.0 -
Yes, I do
When meal planning my first port of call is my freezer. I plan as many meals as I can from what I already have in the house.
After that, I look at the offers at Aldi and then base the rest of my meals around that.0
