Do they work through walls or even floors like the 12v 23A ones? I'm finding the costs of battery replacement are eating into my savings.

Have you considered the lightwaverf system Kernel? - we have alot of our devices run off timers and you have full control via a smartphone app or web portal?

    Hi

No, it's simply a 13A plug line-of-sight receiver which can 'learn' an IR signal and switch from that. We don't have a TV in the lounge and normally have the heaters in a dedicated TV/entertainment room which doesn't benefit from solar-gain, so simply program the switch from a button on the TV remote as it's usually at hand.

As mentioned before, it's not a clever(/automated) solution, but that's not what we need, just something to boost the temperature and improve the comfort where we're sitting as-and-when necessary ....

So did I, very good value considering the remote is included.

I really only need to be able to control the immersion heater, and the ability to do that from the other side of town could be useful. However, when cloud has moved in, I would need some definite confirmation that my signal to switch off had actually got through. Sadly, that website is big on glitzy video but short on hard fact and spec.

    I use these: https://energenie4u.co.uk/index.php/catalogue/product/ENER002-3

They seem to work fine, and from any room.

Mmm, you'll be paying a lot more for the two way control and feedback loops.

The new Immersun can be used to control more than one resistive load however, why not look into that? It needs to be a simple radiator with no control unit of its own.

The current model (Series 3) is a pain in the a**e when you have it connected to two loads, it is not reliable. Its operating mode is that it will operate Heater 1 until the thermostat cuts out then switches to Heater 2. Then it stays fixed on heater 2 until its thermostat cuts out. The time cycles are unpredictable. Also sometimes cuts out for no reason at all. The second load option is a waste of time in the current form and needs further work to become worthwhile.

Better to use in the factory default mode and have the output connected to a rocker switch to select your chosen load.

Thanks for this, we only have it set to the Immersion at present but were considering a radiator later on in the year, won't bother if thats the case.
