My name is Battlestarcat, and I'm a creditcardaholic!

I got my first cc at 19 why my bf and I moved into a rented flat together. I was recommended to get the card to up my credit rating. The card had a £2,000 limit that I reached and paid off a few times.
Skip forward 6 years, we are now married and have bought our first home (with help from the bank of mum and dad).
My DH recently had to take a job that required a big commute. He got a 0% cc to pay for his daily travel, with the intention of paying this off every month. Unfortunately, this didn't always happen.
I realised how much interest I was paying on my original card, so took out a 0% cc and did a balance transfer. In hindsight, I should have then cut up the original card, alas, I did not. And I started spending on the original card again.
Without going into too much detail, here's my situation.
2 adults
1 mortgage
1 car
total month incomings: £2,600
total month outgoings: £1,500 (only thing this does not include is food)
3 credit cards, total debt: £8,013.08
I am aiming to pay off at least £500 a month to clear these cards completely.
I have completed a spread sheet :T which breaks down month by month how much I want to pay off. I feel much more motivated now I have written it all out and can visually see the debt reducing every month.
Hopefully keeping this diary should help keep me motived, especially being in the company of so many fantastic money savers!
