Benefit has wrecked my eyebrows!

Options
I had my brows waxed and tinted today at Benefit, something I have done many times without issue.

However the girl who did them today has wrecked them! I specifically said to keep the thickness/fullness and just tidy the ends up - what I now have is brows with very thin severe ends. When she showed me the "finished result" I said they were a bit thinner than I wanted but she had added product to then to I couldn't see how thin they really were.

When I got home and removed my makeup the full extent was revealed and I am not happy. One brow is actually thinner than the other!!

I have emailed benefit to complain but they can't glue the hair back on so I am going to have to grow them and fill them in until they look presentable!

So, Rapid Brow - anyone tried it?!? Seems rather pricey at near on £40 (£30 online) or any other suggestions!

To be honest I think your likely to have to suffer for four weeks until they have grown back in- painful I know.

I would never let anyone but a trained beautician near my eyebrows let alone someone on a make up counter who you don't know the extent of the training experienced.

I had mine threaded before and despite saying I only wanted the grown in hairs removed my brows ended up like I had drawn them on:( make up is your friend here I'm afraid but I feel your pain :(

    I've been Money Tipped!
Confirms my phobia of letting anybody, regardless of apparent expertise touch my brows.

Hope you have a good eyebrow pencil.

Push that complaint with Benefit. Sounds like their staff need encouragement to listen to their customers.

My eyebrows are so completely different and grow in such weird ways I would never let anyone touch them!

OP - I hope Benefit come up with a voucher or something and retrain the person who did your brows.

My eyebrows go thin and fall out when I get stressed, and I have been guilty of thin eyebrows in the past when trying to make the hairloss less noticeable. Over the summer I became quite an expert over how to make them look better, and will quickly explain what I do below in case you find it helpful!

I have dark eyebrows. The hair is pretty much black (I have pale skin and mid brown hair). I find all the eyebrow pencils on the market and growth formulas crap! I tried Benefit Brow Zing and the whole put wax on and stick a powder to it gives very fake looking eyebrows IMO. The MUA kit was a better shade (tried mid and dark of Benefit and both no good) but still you have to be amazingly skilled to get them looking even, so I don't recommend those either.

Personally, I use an MUA eyeliner pencil in brown. It has a sharpener on the lid and I basically fill in my eyebrows lightly and use a Rimmel eyebrow pencil with a brush on the lid to smooth the pencil lines. As long as you're gentle you can use them to thicken the ends of your eyebrows too.

I find my eyebrows and the skin around them get dryer from the product use so I add extra moisturiser morning and night before make up and after taking it off.

These are the two I use:

Due to having the brow kits to use up I will often put a tiny layer of wax over the top to keep stray hairs inline with my brows but its not really needed.

If you do want a brow kit you can get stencils off Ebay to help draw on eyebrows, even if you just use them to help shape the ends. I found it very hard not to get a thick clog of make up at the edge of the template though.

I feel your pain. I really do. :(
  • I prefer using eyeshadow, rather than a pencil. I use a flat brush to apply a soft brown shadow, which I find gives a much easier, natural look. Might just be what I'm used to, though.
  • I feel your pain, but seriously they will grow in, just make sure you don't go back there again, but you are probably just going to have to put up with them for the next 4 to 6 weeks. A good eyebrow pencil will help. If it's any colsolation, they probably look a lot worse to you than they do to other people, I bet you feel self conscious of them, have been there myself, but they will grow back.

People try and blame everything on Benefits, it's an easy target IMO.

Gosh eyebrow pen is good too, it's like a felt tip.

Just to update, Benefit have been very good dealing with this.

I had to send more details and some "before and after" shots of my brows but they agree they were badly done and want me to go back to the brow bar to fix them. However not sure how they can fix them until they have grown back and even then I would be a little nervous about "letting them loose" again.

They are refunding my money and sending me some brow products for free which I can use whilst my brows grow back.

So you know, handled pretty well I think but I still look sodding ridiculous!
