I hate chasing prizes, especially when you get told lies!

I won a book with the daily mags about 2 months ago...well I always give 30 days before I chase up a prize that hasn't arrived, so when it didn't turn up after 30 days, I emailed. The same day I got a reply saying - I have chased it up and it is being sent out today......7 days later still no prize so I emailed again. This time the person said, I have it here and I am posting it out today so it should be with you in a few days.......7 days later still no prize so I emailed again and this time the person said 'Oh it has just arrived in the office this morning! I had been waiting for it for over a fortnight so I will personally send it out to you today on my way home - so sorry it has taken so long!' Anyway - 7 days later just as I was about to email again - it arrived! Thank God but the thrill of winning it has long gone

So why oh why did this person lie to me and tell me he was personally sending it out to me the previous week when he obviously didn't have it!? Seriously, I get so annoyed when promoters try to fob you off with feeble excuses. I would far rather they were honest and just tell me that the prize has been delayed. I experienced similar with another book I had won back in December, that finally arrived in February after being told several times it had been posted out when it became obvious that it hadn't! Then the same happened when I chased up my missing Stella wins and more recently I have been chasing a blogger for a missing prize! Seriously winning can be great but it can also be stressful when you get excited about your prize arriving and it doesn't turn up! I think I have done more chasing in the last four months than in the whole of the four years I have been comping!

Was chasing a prize of a £4.99 feeding cup since winning in September 2013

After 30 days I emailed the company asking if it had been dispatched - for them to say I never replied to the email asking for my address (although they replied to that email saying delivery should be around 7 days)

They then asked again for my address details - same thing 30 days later they denied ever receiving the email (again after they replied to it saying the same delivery with 7 days)

After going backwards and forwards for 5 months - I sent them another email and also CC the email to the IPM and stated in the email that the email was also sent to the IPM

10 minutes later I receive an email saying

Apologies for this drawn out process, this is the first that I have heard of your missing cup!

Please send me your address and I will send you a Lamaze bundle as an apology.

Please let me know the age of your child so I can choose appropriate toys!

2 days later a box arrives with £75 worth of toys -- and the £4.99 cup



So don't give up - chase that missing prize

Daza - well done!!! So glad you gained a bonus after all your chasing Even though I hate chasing up prizes, I still do as I think I am entitled to my prize however big or small or expensive of in-expensive it is! I entered and I won so the promoter should keep their word!
