New meter from Ovo, should I have to pay?

It is quite clear in their T&Cs that they can charge for a replacement meter under the following condition:
13.2 If you make any changes to your property that result in the meter you have no longer being suitable, we may charge you for any work needed to install a suitable meter.

I suppose this will hinge on the definition of 'suitable'?
Can a meter that works be deemed unsuitable? And under what basis?
Will be interesting to see what Ovo come back with0 -
My meter similarly shows "rEd". I did point this out to a meter inspector (he came to check the work of an inexperienced meter fixer) and was told that it wasn't a problem.. So my meter at least seems 'suitable'..0

NPower didn't charge me for a new meter, also the new one has a rED in the display but it's 0.
Before the new meter the old one (one with a wheel) was running backwards.
They may not charge for a new meter but they are taking ages to process my fit application 12 weeks up to yet.Pinxton Notts

It's almost 4 years since the first PV system was fitted and SP have just got round to changing the old mechanical reverse running meter.
Got a new Landis & Gyr dual display (economy 7) meter. I'll have to start learning the best way to use the PV power. Until now it didn't matter when it was used as the old meter just did a Nett reading. There was no charge for the new meter.

Sadly, ovo have now accepted that they are wrong so my meter was never actually changed. I had got the customer service rep to agree that if my meter was incorrectly counting my usage, then Ovo would need to refund me and as I had a generation meter, the amount was known.
As it got escalated, someone obviously twigged and gave the correct answer that my meter was fine. Drat!0 -

That's interesting as it doesn't cover them if you fit panels and then switch to them.0
