Weetabix

Options
I got Weetabix this morning in Morrisons,
£4.19 for 72 pack (in the foyer as you walk in)
It's the same price in Tesco & Asda for the 48 pack.

This morning in Asda I got Weetabix Organic. They were selling boxes of 24 reduced to £1 each, best before 10 January 2015. Don't know why they were reduced, but bought 2 boxes :j

Heron had a box of 30 for £2 last week and this week. Not sure how long they will sell them for but worth picking a box up.

Aldi sell 36 for £1.79 all the time, the Harvest Morn brand and they taste identical.

Does anyone else think Weetabix have shrunk and look darker?
    Or is it just me?

All the Weetabix and supermarkets' own Wheat Bisks are made in the same factory in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire. They use slightly different recipes for the value/normal etc.

My godfather worked there and saw in the warehouse piles of empty boxes - both the individual boxes and the cases for all the supermarkets...

For anyone who likes Weetabix do try Sainsburys own. I can't tell the difference other than the corners haven't been rounded.

Agreed. Haven't tried the Aldi ones yet (have high hopes due to the quality of their other cereals) but I have had the Sainsbury's ones and thought they were scrummy and even slightly tastier than actual Weetabix.

I'm not normally a massive cereals fan but I ate the whole box in about 2 weeks and was a bit miffed when I finished them off. I'd actually be prepared to pay a bit more for these than for "proper" Weetabix as they were so lovely.

Just goes to show it's always worth at least trying own-brand and value stuff.

I had to share this because it made me chuckle.....was listening to R2 in the car the other afternoon and heard an interesting factoid: there is a cereal on the market that costs less than the cardboard package it comes in. When asked if it was the one with the chicken on the box, the answer was no, turns out it was the "wheaty" one.....

Kind of puts any bargain into perspective!
