inst acc and ret acc ....what's the difference?

Apologies for perhaps a stupid question, but please could someone explain the difference between the two types of funds.....both are accumulators, but with varying levels of ease to sell perhaps?

Many thanks

Inst/Ret = Institutional and Retail versions of the same fund. May be a different in the charges for each so worth checking.

One is instituional, one is retail. They are sold to different types of people. Retail are usually available to public joe, institutional sometimes aren't.

    They will have different charges.

As they ^^ have said plus the institutional ones (e.g. for the likes of pension funds) usually have a very high initial investment.

The retail ones are also becoming obsolete nowadays with clean share classes taking over.

Before Clean finds were available some platforms were happy to sell lower charge inst funds to retail customers. "Clean" has now removed the need.
