We done it!

Well we put DH's forms into the court the other day, couldn't believe how many people do this! We were there for several hours as expected waiting for a judge to become free and came away with the BR order. Just waiting for the OR to contact us now. Hopefully DH will have a telephone interview as he has no more holiday from work left.

Can anyone tell us what to expect in this interview please? Does it last long and what sort of things do they ask you?

Well done both of you on getting it all done at court. :j:j

Normally the interview is just so the OR can fill in any information that they can't get from the petition, confirm any important info, and just generally make sure that they have everything they need to deal with the case.

Generally, make sure that he has his petition in front of him to refer to, especially if it is by phone (which it usually is).

Also, if if you have any concerns/case to make about what happens to cars/houses etc or anything that needs sorting out, the interview is a good place to air those concerns.

The length of the interview depends entirely on the case so it is impossible to tell exactly how long. But if the case is very simple it can sometimes only be 5-10 mins, but be prepared for longer.

I would also add that the OR will go through the paperwork you filed with a fine toothcomb, be prepared to be open and honest about your life/finances position. Don’t try and hide anything. Remember the OR is not going to judge you they just have to collect all the facts.

From my experience the OR office are very nice helpful people. You will probably get a letter with a date for the telephone interview if that’s the way it’s going to be conducted.

    Good luck
