Switch back to paper statements ready for mortgage application?

I know some companies won't accept online statements (don't mean specifically mortgage lenders) and therefore I was wondering if I need to submit bank statements down the line for a mortgage application, am I better switching back to paper statements now?

On the subject of statements, how far back will lenders want statements for? 6, 12, 24 months?

Print outs of online statements are fine if they have your name etc on them.
We had to provide 3 months.

I've always kept paper statements for my main account for this very reason but more specifically I needed paper ones for visa applications as I'm originally from Australia and the Border Agency wouldn't accept online ones. Now I'm a citizen I'm still keeping them as paper ones as it's easier for proof of address etc.

With my recent mortgage application I was asked for 6 months but a previous one I was asked for 3 months so it really does very a lot from lender to lender.

As long as the internet print contains;-

    bank name/logo
    your name
    sort code
    account number
URL bar printed across the bottom

    most lenders accept them.

Find out what your likely lender's policy is and work to that.

Okay thanks, if I only need six months (is this the max in all circumstances?) then I probably won't bother switching back to paper statements until I'm several months away from applying.

Personally I would switch back now, it makes things so much easier, although you think your application is months away, you may see something sooner.
