Retainer not meeting National Minimum Wage

Hi Guys,
I am working in a job that pays £1200, before tax, a month in the form of a retainer. I am told I earn 25% of each job given to me. If I get enough jobs to earn more than my retainer I earn more. I worked about 270 hours last month, most of those were on call but only 20-30 of those I didn't work. I am allows to spend on call time at home. That works out at about £4-5 an hour. Some days I was given a flat rate of £60 when I worked for 12 hours. That again is only £5 an hour.
I average 3-4 jobs a day, according to my payslip breakdown I earn £17.50 (25%) on each job regardless of the distance I travel or time it takes, some jobs can take 4+ hours to complete. This is way less than the National Minimum Wage.
I am talking with my boss on Monday but I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with this.
I am a recovery driver just in case you wondered.

My starter contact states I am to work 5 12hr Night shifts on and 5 off but I haven't been on those hours from the beginning. I worked 270 hours last month, the weekly hours are all different.0

I believe and not 100% sure that on call hours do not count towards the calculation so how do you end up after taking these out?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

I will say that I worked, including driving as it is part of the job, for approx 240 hours last month and that's a generous estimate. So 1,200 divided by 240 is 5.0

You say you spend most of the time on call at home, and if on call doesn't count how many hours do you actually work away from home?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Start keeping a log book of all your actual working and driving hours.0
