non bio for washing coloured clothes?

HI, I usually buy Ariel bio to wash whites, sheets and towels and any brand coloured liquid for other clothes - am using Aldi liquid at the moment

Morrisons have Persil non bio on offer this week will this be ok to wash coloured clothes? Is there much difference between this and coloured powder?

I did use Fairy non bio when DS was a baby but he is 19 this year so it was a while ago !!!! I cant really remember what it was like

thanks

Bio contains enzymes which get rid of stains better, but some people have had skin reactions.
Non-bio is better for babies as it doesn't have as many enzymes in it, so most people prefer this.

Look it up on Wikipedia :)

"Biological detergents clean in the same way as non-biological ones with additional effects from the enzymes, whose purpose is to break down protein, starches and fat in dirt and stains on clothing to be laundered, for example food stains, sweat and mud."

Using whatever for either is fine - it's more a matter of if your skin can cope.

thanks, I have gym clothes etc to wash for DS so think I will be better just buying coloured washing powder/liquid then
  • I use persil non biofor everything including rugby kit ! As my son have sensitive skin and have no problems, but I've started buying some other bio for some other household stuff that he won't use - our bedding for example as its cheaper , but I stock up on persil when on offer

I buy aldi's almat which I find very good. I just do a white wash and a coloured wash. I have tried others in the past before shopping at aldi. My favorite was aerial. Almat is as good.
  • I've used non bio for years on everything, due to sensitive skin issues. Unless clothes are pretty badly stained, it works just fine. I use a drop of washing up liquid on the stain and rub it out with cold water before popping in the machine.
