CSA taken my Army commitment bonus!??

Options
Hello,

I'm serving with the British Army after a one night stand, I now have a child, of which the mother said she's only keeping the baby because she knew she could get money from me and a flat. Yes I know 'I do choose them well'

Anyway I have no problem paying what I do have a problem with is the fact she can take my commitment bonus of time served. When my five year money become available she was 2 months pregnant, yet was able to take 20% before tax. Can she do this? Can she take my commitment bonuses for serving my country in both Iraq and Afghanistan before I even knew her??

If you can help and tell me who to speak to the please to, I've tried talking to the Csa but there as useful as a 'self licking lolly pop!'

So please help if you can I'm trying to buy a house and can't afford it.

CM does not start until the baby has been born and the CSA would not open a case for a baby that isnt yet born. Do you actually have a case? Has the baby been born?

It should be just on your basic pay. They usually ask for 3 months worth of pay slips. They should be able to see from that if any pay is over and above your usual pay. If you talk to your welfare people you may find there is a CSA face to face officer who makes regular visits. You can make an appointment to see them and they will give you help and advice. From our experience although they do stick to the rules and regulations of the CSA they will be on your side and will give you good advice. Be aware that being in HM Forces allows the CSA to take payments directly from your pay if you do not make regular payments yourself.
  • Sadly the role of Forces Focal Point no longer exists. If you receive your Commitment bonus within the assessment period then it can be taken into account for the period it is paid. For example, if you commit to a further 5 years then it will be averaged out over that length of time and you will pay slightly higher payments. Has the baby been born?
