Welsh Cake Variations

Options
As it's almost St David's Day, I will be making some (not so traditional) welsh cakes for tomorrow. Just looking for some ideas.

I will be doing cranberry and white chocolate but want some other ideas.

I want to do some chocolate and orange flavoured ones but I don't know whether it is best to use orange flavoured chocolate or use milk/dark chocolate then some kind of orange flavouring - maybe zest or orange juice? Any ideas?

Thanks!

  • I've made a chocolate cake before and covered it with melted chocolate orange icing and it was absolutely delicious! But if you wanted the flavour to be more throughout I think zest and orange juice would be better.
