Old HFC Loan

Hi All,

Just a heads up really on this. I had an old HFC loan that I've been paying for what seems like an eternity (got into trouble in 2005, loan on loan etc etc)

It was the only remnant of my very stupid days as a teenager with no appreciation of credit, who got into a mess. We ended up agreeing £38.75 per month interest free, for about 10 years I think it was at the time.

I wanted rid. They gave me the settlement amount which balanced with what I had in my spreadsheet, except for £15.00

They proceeded to tell me that this £15.00 was for a late payment fee in........2005! :O After a request for this to be waived, it was, and written confirmation sent to confirm full and final settlement etc.

My heads up is really for anyone who is wanting to settle a loan account with them to check the balance and check again - £15.00 is a small amount in the scheme of things, but it is still a lot of money to lots of people.
