Dads ashes

Options
My dad passed away over a year ago and mum has kept his ashes in her bedroom (she likes him near her) His wish was to be scattered down our local beck where he has lots of fun as a child and he also loved fishing. My mum knows that there is no rush to scatter his ashes yet but feels like she is holding onto them and that he should be "laid to rest" now what I was thinking and this is where you lovely people can help me is to suggest I put a few of his ashes into something so that mum can keep a little bit of him in the bedroom.

I was thinking about buying a little glass bottle and decorating it with a red heart putting a label on it saying something like only you have my heart or words to that effect and putting some ashes in there for her but I wondered if I you had any other/better ideas?

Many thanks for your help.

  • You can get ashes made into a diamond to put into a piece of
jewellery for her to keep with her always?

I think if you Google it a few companies will come up. A friend of mine recently had this done and its not as expensive as I was expecting it to be and could live on to be an 'inheritable' item of much sentimental value?

What does your Mum think, I was offered half of my Sons ashes and declined, my Son had wanted his to be scattered at Glastonbury and that's where they went.
