Still not going to happen as you will still have total credit in excess of your salary - you say you're going to pay off the existing finance. The lender will use the worst case scenario and assume that you won't, meaning that the new loan is not affordable.0 -

Small thing, but perhaps you could consider your wording. Referring to a bank applying charges/defaulting you for failing to meet your payments as being 'raped' might be considered pretty offensive to anyone who has suffered a sexual assault.
Have a look at the Everydaysexism campaign to see why lots of people think that using the word rape to describe anything other than the act itself is damaging to victims and reduces the impact of the action in general terms.
Sorry, bit of a peeve. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
LB moment - March 2006. DFD - 1 June 2012!!! DEBT FREE!

At what point would it be worth trying again 6 months perhaps ? i KNOW i know, but if i got a better rate on the finance it would still save me money..
it would only be worth applying if your current debt gets below £3k ish
based on your current salary staying the same (£20k gross ish?) and the amount you want to borrow (7k) stays the same.0 -
For the OP
You'll get through it somehow, life doesn't stop, something else always happens.
But do yourself a huge favour and learn from this.
Taking on debt is an attitude and so many people go through the "I've way too much debt and no money!" scenario, then find a way out.
But seemingly they forget the pain and suffering they've just been though, so start getting into debt again. 5 years later they are back up to their neck in debt again and each time it gets harder to get out from under it.
Now, I'm not being your dad, though I am no doubt way old enough to be (
), but really, do yourself a massive life long favour - Get out of this current mess then stop taking on debt.
Your life will be immeasurably nicer, that I assure you.I am not offering advice, at most I describe what I've experienced. My advice is always the same; Talk to a professional face to face.
Debt - None of any type: Bank or any other accounts? - None: Anything in my name? No. Am I being buried in my wife's name... probably

Its my own stupid fault, i ive gone from 2 miles from work(could manage when my old car used to pack up), to nearly 25miles, and after a four and a half year relationship, trying to do the right thing by moving closer to her folks, she walks out because she cant handle not having daddy to pay for everything.
Im just left with the mess somehow because Im a bloody idiot. haha. still, gotta look on the bright side of things, Ive still got my job and currently a roof over my head!
Give it some time and i'll have a good laugh on this.

Its also why i got another car.
i average 60mpg - which is a fuel save, in the sence that, i dont spend any more on fuel then what i used to going to the ex's every week. if anything its better because im doing more miles for the same money if you get me.
