Anyone know Stamford at all? Ideas for hen do needed please

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone knows Stamford the town at all and could help me out regarding a hen night there?

Basically I'm arranging my sisters hen weekend in March, we've hired a large house just a mile or two from Stamford, staying in on the Friday night but heading out for drinks on the Saturday which is where I'm struggling a bit as having never visited the town I'm finding it difficult to plan which bars to go to.

If anyone knows the town and could suggest a few that would be great.

Ideally she'd like wine/cocktail bars but happy with pubs etc just want to go to 'nice' places rather than anywhere full of young drinkers if that makes sense? We're eating locally so just after drinking recommendations please.

The group is made up of 10, mid/late twenties/early thirties if that helps.

I have done some googling but struggling to find much information at all, suspect this might mean there are very places but just thought I'd ask on the off chance.

Stamford is a nice market town. Don't know much about what it like in the evening as I have only been there during the day. Hope these link helps.

There are a LOT of pubs around and it's really very pretty! I went to school and college there so may be a little biased

They have a Cosy Club, which are generally lovely. The George is tremendously grown up, and the Bull and Swan has a great reputation. The Periwig is near the Cosy and has a lively atmosphere.

(Back in my day we'd go to St Mary's Vaults, the Lord Burghley and down to the meadows to lark about. Happy days! :beer:)
