Does anyone use CommuterClub to save money?

Hi,
I've been using commuter card for the last year and its been working a treat. Never had any issues. Every month they take my monthly rate and my oyster card has always worked.
I've just reached my final month and am now travelling for free! Also you get a gold rail card which will save you 1/3 off other travel and you don't pay the rise in fare in January.

Believe what you like but I promise I'm human. Working and studying in London for the past four years. And I don't work for commuter club! I just really like it and although I've recently changed jobs, still needed the same zones so didn't have to change cards. I personally think there is no reason not to get one!0 -

That is exactly the same as with every annual season ticket.0 -
Well one reason might be that you are paying interest for a loan. So if you don't need a loan, why join Commuter Club?
Hardly an exclusive benefit offered by Commuter Club, is it?

Okay I'm sorry. Let me rephrase. If you can't afford a annual season ticket outright (which I can't) this is a very good alternative by which you can still save a fair bit of money in the long run and with your gold rail card.
The original question asked it anyone uses it. I do, so thought I might help by posting but I feel I shouldn't have bothered. My main point, they don't just steal your money and run away.0 -
I always thought by the time you count in a few holidays throughout the year, then you'd not be buying 12 monthly passes anyway, what with 2 weeks in summer, maybe week at xmas, 1 week Autumn and winter.
So buying monthly's and then weeklys when in a holiday month works out at about the same (and in my case, a weekly often is more expensive than my usual Monday-friday commute as its just one tube journey, no busses, so unless going out at weekend as well, I'd stick to PAYG that week)0 -
Its very simple, very honest and they're really friendly on the phone. I also got £20 off my first month with this code: U3HEACO00

I think I would hold off until a long term member praises them, I'm always wary when the first posters are new ones, just happening to log onto MSE and just happening to find this thread.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Agreed and I'm particularly suspicious of those that are overwhelmingly positive, I find it hard to believe people would be so cheery about having to take out a loan for a season ticket even though it's something they need.

I use them and I am happy... I m in my 2nd year with them. Its a loan but they do have great customer service and have always responded really quickly if there are issues. Also, 5.6%, its a good deal.
I found their customer reviews most comforting when I was choosing to buy, on feefo[dot]com0
