I'd be surprised if it really sells systems; it's out in 2 weeks on 360, and has really low system reqs for PC.

I would just pick it up on PC myself and get Dark Souls 2 for 360/PS3, two 9/10 games.

I see that the XBOX one is to drop to £399 in the UK and will be including a free copy of Titanfall, while they have stock.

I'm still playing my 360 and the drop is def not enough to tempt me to buy any time soon but if anyone is considering buying shortly it would be worthwhile to wait am extra few days.

I have an XBox 360. There is no way in heaven or hell I am paying £429, or £399 or £389 or anything starting with a 3.

£299? Maybe. £229 which is what it should have been anyway, OK, fair enough.

Look at it this way. The XBox 360 has been available at £180 for a long time (please, no pedantic comments) MS and the sellers made a profit.

The XBone at £429 was/is £249 more than an XBox 360

How much more can an XBone cost to make than an XBox360? £30 with the amount they make?

So it seems to me they are milking a further £219 per box profit.

I play Forza 4. I have read various reports that Forza 5 on XBone is set up so you basically HAVE to buy cars as you do not earn enough points as you do in Forza 4 if you play a sensible amount.

The top cars such as some Ferrari or Porsche can apparently cost £32 of REAL money to download.. it is insane. They apparently had a 'half price car' weekend. Why? Obviously because they are struggling and not selling - hardly a surprise is it? I'm still baulking at paying £17 for the Porsche DLC on Forza 4

This XBone/Titan fall thing is desperation. Just don't do it you really do not need it that badly do you people?

In two years time in real terms, I believe XBone will be under £300.. I can wait 2 years easily and if they do not sort out the price of games, I'll be waiting a great deal longer!

I'm not tight, but I simply refuse to be ripped off by these pirates who are preying on people.

The original xbox 360 premium was £280 when it arrived. You are paying for parts and the development of the new consoles. The new xbox has completely different parts (much bigger hard drive, blu ray drive, different processor, graphics chip and memory) so your estimate that it should be £30 more expensive is ever so slightly off!

Microtransactions are here to stay in games provided people spend money on them, much like you did with the Porsche pack. Ok you pack got you cars that were not in the game but to buy extra credits using real money is an option that is there to take advantage of the lazy and greedy who want the best things without putting in the effort to get them.

There is every chance the xbox will be under £300 in 2 years. It can be had for about £360-370 now so that is fairly likely.

As for the price of games - most of my games have been £40 or under. I've actually been impressed by the closeness to the 360 prices I had been paying a few months before. £37 for titanfall and similar for tomb raider.

Well more than £30. A dvd drive costs about £10 for end users to buy but a blu-ray drive costs about £30 at cheapest I've seen to end user - so there is £20 straight away.

Memory about £60 for 8Gb DDR3 (it's custom stuff in the one though) xbox 360 has 512Mb.
HD about £60 retail for 500Gb.
Motherboard and processor are custom and graphics chip custom so have no idea on these but it's fair to say that they will cost more than the xbox 360 component equivalents.

Hopefully that is enough of a breakdown for you, the PS4 will be similar costings and it was put forward that Sony actually made a loss on the PS3 as it cost more to make than selling for and that it made the money back with games. Sony also possible clearing about $18 per PS4. While I believe they will have massive bulk buy reductions, it shows they aren't making the fortunes that you would expect.

I'm certainly not being an apologist for MS, perhaps if you have that much of an issue with other people's opinions then you shouldn't be posting on a thread where someone is recommending an xbox one due to the recent price drop of £60 and the current best game of the new platforms.

I don't think I've ever replied to any of your other posts before, I was simply presenting a different opinion to you, don't get so excited with yourself. You are entitled to yours as much as I am entitled to mine. You posted something that I disagreed with so I responded. Other than the insult, which doesn't upset me in the slightest, why would I report you?

I could get a 2TB HD for £60.. A 500GB drive is £30 retail so you're talking £15-20 cost to MS in bulk.

I would guesstimate around £40-50 for motherboard and £60 for processor.

Fair enough but still a pretty decent difference between the parts for the 360 and the one.

Is Titanfall online only? I like going online occasionally but prefer single player games

You should be in for a treat then. I was looking at games to buy for the xbone the other day and there are quite a few that have made the decision to have little or no multiplayer features.

For some of the games its a shame. They could have been so much more with multiplayer (dying light was one, cant remember any others off hand).
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
