  • I like brandy butter on pancakes.

Not sure about the cranberry sauce, but it goes well with smoked fish like mackerel or haddock - so it might go with home made fishcakes? Otherwise with white meat like chicken or pork, or even cured meats?

Cranberry Sauce/Jelly goes with most meats in my flat - especially Boiled Ham, Roast Pork, Chicken, Lamb. Not tried it with Roast Beef, but bet it still tastes good ;).

Just thinking that Cheese/Cranberry/Ham Toastie sounds .
  • Another in favourite of the brie and cranberry, but I do toasties or paninis.
Another is baking the brie in container and serving with the cranberry sauce and crusty bread.....I want some now!
  • Haven't tried it personally but have you thought of brandy butter on scones, perhaps with a spoonful or raspberry or strawberry jam. Good job you can't see me drooling!

You could make a fruit cake with the brandy butter.

Another vote here for the brie/cranberry sauce combo!

Would cranberry sauce work as a slightly tart cheesecake topping? Or melted, a little more sugar added, and used over ice cream or pancakes or yoghurt as a fruit compote.

I love both brie and cranberry individually, but actually find Brie 'lacking' in a sarnie.

However, I did have both a jar of cranberry sauce and some casserole beer to use up and can recommend them braised with red wine. I think this is the recipe I used

It is one of those that gets better a day or so after making, indeed I froze some potions and they were fab with green veg and a couple of Yorkshire puds.

It's an odd combo that really does work.
