I've already mentioned inflation.
Government bonds, that pay interest, help offset inflation.
However, when you gamble you stand the chance of losing your stake money.
You cannot lose your stake money with premium bonds, so it is not a gamble.
As you well know Pbs were being discussed, not Govt Bonds, something entirely different which for some reason you brought into the equation ?
With PB's you don't lose your stake, but it's value is eroded by inflation, therefore you will have gambled. I'm not going to continue to argue the toss here with someone who could start an argument in a phone box with himself.
If you need it confirmed, step into the financial forums here or on any other website or speak to an IFA who will confirm what most financially savvy people already know and that's that you are gambling against a better fixed return of income from elsewhere.0 -

It's a shame it's not as cheap as it was at Xmas and we could squeeze 3 bottles in a shop. I can't do meal deals. I couldn't get a credit card in my freezers, never mind a ready meal
I didn't buy any at Xmas, wasn't it about £3.50 bottle then. I paid approx £33 for my 2 deals and 2 prosecco and some decent bacon. With another £8 off my next shop I'm happy with that.
Can't really work out how much a bottle it cost me but I figured I have sort of paid for my meal deals and bacon and got the prosecco free. :rotfl:
I have managed to get the BNI onion rings in mum's freezer so now that is full again.Curries and Finest in bottom of fridge but good dates to use by.
