mis-sold Mppi

I recieved a letter from Norther Rocks solicitors who told me that I made a single Mppi of £3, 295 when I took Mortgage out and think its been mis-sold, when I contacted NRock they said they had no record and should check my direct debits at that time, now how can I chck when no direct debit was set up just a 1 off payment which was added to my mortgage

    Northern Rock never retailed single premium MPPI. So, it wouldnt be them. If you used a broker, then they may have done it. Was this before or after 14th January 2005?

  • It was in 2004 Country wide solicitors contacted me telling me that although we did have a independent advisor who advised us to take out the 1 off payment

    Regulation started in January 2005. This is pre-regulation. Most advisers were not regulated prior to 14 Jan 2005. You would need to check with them (assuming they still exist)
