Worried about HSBC mortgage rejection
Comments
-
We've been lucky to get an HSBC mortgage.
I personally wouldn't want to deal with a computer, there is too much scope for mistakes and rejection.
I had to switch my current account to HSBC to get their best rate with a £99 fee. The valuation fee was also half of what other lenders wanted.
The process was very long and exhausting and we've been subject to a quite extraordinary scrutiny, it almost felt like my bank statements were analysed item by item. But we got a great rate with good fees so I would say it was definitely worth it.
We definitely do not have £75K income
I think it comes down to what deal you are after- in our very particular circumstances we did not have much choice, but frankly I haven't seen a better deal (lifetime tracker at 1.49% over BoE rate), so feeling rather pleased with myself.0 -

Because it's is clearly not the case. It's just bad website design.0 -
Lenders will want 3 years address history. They cannot search non UK addresses.
Credit scoring will be an issue here.
Do yourself a favour and speak to a broker.

We'd put down a 500K deposit on a 780K house, and we make just under 100K p/a. A lender should go insane to reject us, right?
How a broker would help, I don't see.0 -

Insane to reject? Logically maybe. Regulatory no.
If it is so simple why are you posting on a forum? Brokers can access contacts and escalate cases.
Clearly you know more than any of us who do this day to day, dealing with cases that are complex.

A broker would have told you not to waste your time with HSBC DmitriiI am a Mortgage Broker
