Does anyone know of any festivel stuff, that is free or cheap for the little ones!0

There's also Fringe Sunday on August 12th which is free as is the Edinburgh Cavalcade on the 5th.
Don't know specific free children's shows - but there's only 113 children's shows in total so it probably won't be too hard to work it out -0 -
Unfortunately one genre we don't have as part of our Free Festival shows are childrens shows; across the Fringe Childrens shows can be found at a much more reasonable price than shows later in the day - some for £4/£5.
As alanrowell said, Fringe Sunday is very good - also there is daily street performances on the Royal mile that are free, bits from shows, street perfromers and so on.0 -

Don't know about any free ones but the first few days [previews] are often cheaper (2nd, 3rd Aug) and there are loads of 2 for 1 offers on the first weekend (see Fringe programme which you can get free at hmv or waterstones). The book festival has an excellent selection of childrens events from as little as £2: http://www.edbookfest.co.uk/families/index.html
According to their website they [book festival] also have:- Free hands-on activities for children aged up to 11 in the Activity Corner at the rear of the RBS Children's Bookshop.
- Free lunchtime live musical entertainment.
- Free daily storytelling.
You could also ask on the fringe message boards if there are any free/cheap shows for kids:http://www.edfringe.com/forums/index.php?r_menu=global&static=true"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
