5 years bankrupt trying to rebuild credit capital one???

I went bankrupt 5 years ago and would really like to get my credit file back together as renting properties is so difficult... i applied for vanquis got declined but tried capital one and they want proof of my id and address why is this im not commiting fraud am i????

It's quite normal for them to request proof of address etc when applying for credit.
Do you mean 5 years from bankruptcy, or 5 years from discharge?0 -
This is my 5th year into bankruptcy i was discharged after 6 months0

The 6 years runs from the date of bankruptcy. When was the actual bankruptcy?0

So you have another 13 months until your BR falls off your credit files.
Until that time, you may struggle to get credit, although Vanquis gave me credit at about the same time I to BR as you are. Good luck.0
